Ihnasia was the capital of the twentieth region before the unification of the two countries, as it was the capital of Egypt in the era of the nineteenth and ten pharaonic dynasties, and many ancient religious myths are attributed to it.

Ramses II left us two statues in the area, one of which rises 4.4 meters, and the second is 8.2 meters. He also left a miniature statue sitting on his throne, at the entrance to the Temple of the Machine, “Hari Shef” in the region. The remains of the pillars of the Roman temple are still present in the region, and a large group of small traces of canopic vessels, "entrails", were emitted from the region when embalming the deceased, amulets, crockery and jewelry.
