The Snor Valley Cave was discovered by chance during quarrying workers extracting alabaster ore during the 1990s. A gap appeared that leads to a cave in the ground containing geological structures known as stalagmites and stalactites from the alabaster stone that takes beautiful shapes. These geological structures return to the Middle Eocene era. About 40 million years ago, the result of the leakage of aqueous solutions saturated with calcium carbonate salts through the ceiling of the cave, then evaporated, leaving these mineral salts that accumulated in the form of deposits from stalagmites and stalactites.

The importance of this cave is due to the scarcity of these natural formations in the world, and the reserve is considered a unique global cultural shrine for researchers and scholars in the field of geology, and studies conducted on this site and neighboring sites help to discover future mineral resources.
