South Valley University

South Valley University (SVU) covers a large area in Upper Egypt with its two branches in Qena and Red Sea Governorates. The main campus located in Qena city is 600 km away from south Cairo.

The university includes several faculties and two institutes. As a branch of Assiut University, the study began at SVU in October 1970. According to a presidential decree, the university became independent on January 2, 1995.

  • The Technical Institute of Nursing, affiliated with the Faculty of Nursing, Qena.
  • The Technical Technical Institute of the Faculty of Medicine in Qena.
  • The secondary school for health services assistants is affiliated with the medical school in Qena.

SVU plays a big role in serving the community in Upper Egypt. It is a research institution in which students can enroll. It attracts students not only from Egypt but also from other countries. The number of employees reached 1768 faculty members who have been trained in the best international educational institutions and they brought global perspectives that enhance the educational environment at the university. A related point to consider is that 55498 students have enrolled in the academic year 2019-2020.
