Adda mountain is located on the eastern bank of the Nile, about five kilometers south of Abu Simbel and opposite the town of Ballana. The city's location, also referred to as the castle, was located on a series of prominent sandstone overlooking the river. On the plain and surrounded by the castle there were large tombs dating back to the Meroitic, Christian and Ottoman period.
