The Alexandria National Museum was originally a palace of the great wood merchant Asaad Pasha, and all this history made him one of the best places of tourism in Alexandria.
The museum displays about 1,800 artifacts, ranging from the Pharaonic era to the Ptolemaic period in which Alexandria flourished, then the Roman, Byzantine and Islamic eras, all the way up to the modern era starting from the era of the family of Muhammad Ali Pasha and ending with the revolution of July 23, 1952.
