The Opera House was built in 1930 during the reign of King Fouad I under the name "Cinema and Teatro Farouk", before restoring and modernizing it and providing it with the latest means of display and lighting to keep pace with the latest theaters. The house combines Italian and Islamic design, and is currently considered a cultural center for the entire Nile Delta region, its programs and concerts are always full of important shows, including folklore and ballet bands, other than musical performances and films.
