Egyptian People

North & Delta

The population of the Nile valley and delta, which are home to the overwhelming majority of Egyptians, forms a fairly homogeneous group whose dominant physical characteristics are the result of the admixture of the indigenous African population with those of Arab ancestry.

Within urban areas (the northern delta towns especially), foreign invaders and immigrants—Persians, Romans, Greeks, Crusaders, Turks, and Circassians—long ago left behind a more heterogeneous mixture of physical types. Blond and red hair, blue eyes, and lighter complexions are more common there than in the rural areas of the delta, where peasant agriculturists, the fellahin, have been less affected by intermarriage with outside groups.

Sinai Residents

The Bedouins of Sinai are a group of Arab tribes that have inhabited the Sinai peninsula since ancient times, and number about six hundred thousand people.

There are two main tributaries from which the tribal custom of the Sinai Bedouins derives its provisions and rulings. The most important of these two tributaries was the "old Arab custom or law", and it is one of the oldest laws in the world, but it was formulated primarily to fit with the Bedouin nature of the Arab people, in which the tribe, clan, or family constitute the basic unit for building society, and this is why legal responsibility was based on this system. The ancient Arab, first on the tribe, then on the clan, and finally on the family, but it was not based on the individual's legal responsibility. The justification for this is quite clear, given the distances, the vast areas in which the tribes live in the Arabian Peninsula, and their permanent movement in search of pasture, all of which makes it impossible to arrest or deal with the perpetrator. For example, if an individual from one tribe encroached upon an individual from another tribe, dealing in this case is with the aggressor's tribe and not with the individual who committed the attack.

Residents of Nubia

Nubians are the people of Nubia, one of the indigenous peoples in Africa inhabiting a region that stretches the two banks of the Nile, the far north of Sudan and the far south of Egypt.

The Nuba people speak the Nubian language and is divided into two main parts: the Nubian Nubian language and the language of Nuba Mountains

The Nubian Nubian is divided into two parts, namely, the Kenzian / Dongolao and the Fadjia / Mahsi.

Besides the Nubian language, the current population speaks Arabic fluently with other languages, such as English, French and Italian, due to their mixing with foreign tourists and visitors.

The ancient Nubian language is preserved in at least 100,000 historical documents and manuscripts, most of which are of a Christian religious nature, in an alphabet believed to have been composed in conjunction with a relatively diverse group of the Greek alphabet, with the extension of three from Coptic, and three unique to ancient Nubian derived from Irrigated language. These documents range in history from the 8th to the 15th century AD.

Upper Egypt residents

The inhabitants of Upper Egypt are distinguished by a culture and traditions that differ from the northern regions of Egypt, including conservative behavior and pride in Arab customs and distinct dialect, as the residents of Upper Egypt speak the Upper Eastern dialect, which is the common Arabic language for the people of Upper Egypt and is characterized by its closeness to classical and exaggeration of terms, and they specialize in some terms whose origins are related to special synonyms of the Arabic language . The residents of Upper Egypt, both Muslim and Christian, share the same traditions.

The diversity of Upper Egypt among the Egyptian tribes of ancient origins and some of its present inhabitants are from the Yemeni and Arab tribes of the Arabian Peninsula.
