Beheira Governorate, one of the governorates of Egypt and its capital, Damanhour City, is located in the western delta. It is bordered to the north by the Mediterranean, to the east by the Rashid branch, to the west by Alexandria and Matrouh, and to the south by Giza Governorate. The governorate area is 9,826 km2. It has a number of lakes, most notably Lake Idku.
Damanhur, the capital of the Beheira Governorate, is an Egyptian city, nicknamed several names such as: The City of Light and The City of Victory, and it is away from Alexandria 60 kilometers to the southeast.
